Istituto Marangoni: BLOC 2 and BLOC 4 acoustic pods for tailored workspaces

Designing workspaces and learning environments relies on a balance between aesthetics, acoustic comfort, and functionality. At Istituto Marangoni, two leet design acoustic pods have been installed to provide dedicated spaces for calls, video conferences, and focused work.

This project combines two complementary formats, BLOC 2 and BLOC 4, with a black finish and Gabriel’s Tonal 63153 fabric. A choice of materials that aligns with the institution's identity while meeting the needs of its users.

Two acoustic pods for different uses

Teaching and creative spaces host a variety of activities that sometimes require isolation from ambient noise. An acoustic pod provides a dedicated space for taking a call, participating in a video conference, or working with better focus.

For Istituto Marangoni, the choice of two formats addresses different needs:

• The BLOC 2 acoustic pod : a compact format for calls, video conferences, and individual work.
• The BLOC 4 acoustic pod : a more spacious area, suitable for small group discussions and collaborative work sessions.

These two solutions integrate into existing spaces without the need to build traditional enclosed rooms.

A black finish and Gabriel’s Tonal 63153 fabric

Beyond their acoustic function, the choice of materials helps the pods blend into their environment.

Both BLOC pods were crafted with a black finish and upholstered in Gabriel’s Tonal 63153 fabric. This combination brings visual coherence to the space, with particular attention paid to textures and finishes.

Customizing acoustic pods allows materials and colors to be adapted to the aesthetic requirements of any project. Acoustic solutions naturally find their place in environments where interior architecture and the identity of the space are paramount.
